Post and rail fencing in Dorchester on Thames, near Wallingford
We recently completed a fencing project in the village of Dorchester on Thames, just a stone’s throw from Wallingford in Oxfordshire. Our customer wanted a secure yet attractive fence to enclose their garden, especially to keep their beloved dogs safe.
For this job, we installed UC4 timber post and half-round rail fencing, paired with durable C8/80/15 netting for added security. The result? A fence that blends seamlessly with the garden's rural surroundings.
Post and rail fencing is a classic country style choice, known for its durability, strength and resistance to wind. Different height options and styles are available, from sawn timber to rustic styles. Adding wire mesh, like we did here, makes it ideal for containing pets or livestock such as cattle and sheep, while also keeping unwanted visitors at bay.

Made-to-Order Gates in Wallingford
On a gloriously sunny day at a customer's home in Wallingford, Oxfordshire, we recently fitted these beautiful, made-to-order Iroko hardwood gates with oak posts.
Our customer was carrying out a refurbishment of their house and thought their previous gates were looking a little tired. When they approached us to discuss ideas to bring the exterior fittings up to the same standard as the rest of the property, we suggested Iroko hardwood gates. Although more expensive, the finish is superb and the final look really is a credit to the overall impression of the house.
Dog-proof picket fencing for a garden in Wallingford
It’s usually children that drive the need for a well-fenced garden space in which to play, but in the case of our customer in Wallingford recently, the addition of a puppy to the family drove them to get in touch with us.
We installed 100m of 1.2m high round-topped picket fencing to dog-proof the family’s large garden. Picket fencing is an attractive and low-impact option that smaller dogs will struggle to jump over or squeeze through. The traditional style is well-suited to the lovely render and weatherboard exterior of the property and it also preserves the views of the attractive beech hedge, fields and trees on each side of the garden.
As with any fence installation, Trentwood’s professional team worked quickly and left the site very clean and tidy.
